The Course Instructor

Daniel Moshe Block, N.D., got his bachelor of science degree in Anatomy from McGill University and his naturopathic degree from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. He has learned so much about healing from his successful, personal experience with the disease, myasthenia gravis. He lectures and gives workshops on the philosophy of healing and naturopathic medicine. He has also written The Revolution of Naturopathic Medicine and Book 1 of The Last Four Books of Moses on letting go of Free Will. Daniel is currently practicing in Montreal, Canada.

The Quebec Association of Naturopathic Doctors in Montreal and Surrounding Areas

This course was developed by Daniel M. Block, N.D. due to the overwhelming need to provide students with the understanding of the roots and philosophy of naturopathic medicine. These ideas were presented at a lecture at CCNM during awareness week March 2002, where 1st-4th year students and some graduates attended . The response was very positive and reaffirmed the importance of this course.

This course is designed to help students and doctors understand their ability and freedom to practice whole person naturopathy and healing and to learn how to deal with opposition and resistance that can come from society, conventional medicine and even from the self. This course is designed to help trust in the healing paradigm and understand the importance of embracing the whole person model of healing in our schools, clinics, and practices.  

There is a way of naturopathic medicine – the way is delineated within our philosophy, and that’s all. This course will help free you to be yourself in the world as a healer, in the way that you wish to be, in your unique expression of the way of naturopathic medicine.  

Understanding how our medicine is one of empowerment of the patient, where the patient is given the understanding of their own power and responsibility to heal themselves (doctor as teacher and the healing power of nature) and not become dependent upon the doctor to save them and take all responsibility for their health.

oooooooooooooThe six philosophies of naturopathic medicine - Examining each principle of our philosophy, how it is applied in practice, and how the different principles relate and facilitate healing.

oooooooooooooIntroducing the Seventh philosophy - Physician, Heal Thyself! Understanding the importance of the path of self-healing in the practice of naturopathic medicine.

oooooooooooooNaturopathy's gift of the mind-body connection - Learn how disease begins in the mind and manifests ultimately in the body by understanding connections between scientific knowledge of anatomy, physiology, etc. and knowledge of acupuncture, the chakra system, counseling, cranio-sacral therapy, and homeopathy.  

oooooooooooooThe left-brain of science vs. the right-brain of healing - Understanding the balance of left-brain and right-brain intelligence in whole person naturopathy, recognizing the right brain's greater importance in healing, and how to access and nurture right-brain intelligence.

oooooooooooooUnderstanding the importance of dispelling political over-correctness - to help empower the ND take their rightful place in the world as primary health care practitioners.
